Hewwo! - My little Sweet William -
Guess I will have to repaint my little Green Dragon a more somber color - No less than ten people whistled at me today - several honked, etc. -  I never know whether I know them or not till I look and then I feel silly.  Oh well - that's the price for being conspicuous I guess -
I saw B. Burns for a minute last night - she wants me to drive to Portland - but I think I'll still take the train I think - (I'm kinda all mixed up here - Mom has the Demo. convention on, and it's loud and boisterous) Anyway Bev said she would drive down back with me Sunday.  Anyway, if you can would you call her tomorrow Wednesday at the Belvedere Apts - 28th and Belmont - Elaine Hanson - and tell her I am taking the train - Would you, sweet? -

Got a letter from Harkie tod yesterday and one from Norcross today.  Never rains but it pours.  Anyway Norcross is definitely coming back to school next fall - mainly to be with "her" Bill - Harkie had heard that we were engaged and wanted to know when we were going to get married and if we would live in Sacramento - News certainly travels fast! -

Am studying, in a way, for my midterm and will take it tomorrow - Certainly feel ambitious - Finally finished lesson 8 last night - and wrote 4 letters - Dr. Stanard says I should be all well in a day or two -
There are about three or four things I would like to do - or have to do - the rest is up to you -
Here they are: -
     Have my dress fitted -
Go to that breakfast Sunday morning
Visit Aunt Edna a little while
     And be with you --

Here it's only Tuesday and it seems like it should be Friday (Wiush it were) -

Do you like cookies and things to nibble on? - One of these days I might get in a domestic mood and whip up somepin good to eat to send you - In fact, think it's a pretty good idea - or do you? -
Did you and Tony have a good time - I missed him Monday night when I went up to mail my letters -
Have decided to start knitting again or start a needlepoint - I do a lot of just sitting and might as well be doing something useful -

P.S. Happy Birthday next Sunday -

                               Lots & lots of love

July 15, 1940 From Dotty

Dear (someone - can't read it)     (Please excuse, but I didn't want to throw this clear away and didn't thing you would mind too much!!??) -

Surprize -
Did you get my other letter all right Monday? I hope? -

Bill dear I am just a little worried, but I promise - this is the last I will keep telling you - It might get kinda tiresome to you - my keeping telling you this - but - I saw the doctor again today.  I asked him how contagious this stuff was, and he said it was.  To watch and wash my dishes carefully to and (but don't worry now) cause I'm sure it's all right) - not to kiss anybody.  Soo- please gargle a lot - cause I don't want you to go through what I did.  I am practically a new woman - today and by Saturday will be raring to go -

Darn it, I give up - am disgusted with teh way things are run again at the ML Co.  wh wish I wouldn't get that way - but they do do some Silly things.

Be a good little boy and don't work too hard - and write soon -

                                                        Love & kisses
