Wednesday
Dearest -
You letter was so sweet and I was so glad to get it. We stopped in at the postoffice on our way to the horses and there it was.
Dammit got here fine and I wasn't even a bit tired from driving. We have developed a few more squeaks but everything else is fine.
We have an awfully cute little cabin - only a half block from the ociean.
Had a swell ride, followed this trail and then went along the beach a little ways - Just got thru eating a caramel apple - awful good - but oohhh - how sticky -
Bill I don't know what to do about Jane - It would be swell if she could stay here but our bed is not too big - an extra charge is made for extra guests, and H.G. has a bad cold as well as not being too enthusiastic about it - Sooo I don't know what to do - Any-how I don't know what to do -
Haven't been out in the sun yet, but plan to this afternoon - We finally got up enough courage to go to the dance last night. Bill Van Dusen was at the door and he convinced us that it would be all right - It was a lot of fun - but I turned down more goofy looking guys - that wasn't so good - but we danced with Bill once and then a couple of cute fellows. We did a good job of robbing the cradle - but they were cute & fun. Louie Brainerd is working here, too, as well as Ralph Lafferty. Tonight if we go to the dance we are going to dress to look about 16 or 17 - It is fun tho, to listen to the music & watch the people dance. Better than sitting home in a cold cabin. -
Glad you don't have to work so hard now - A lot better for your constitution - We should have a lot of fun Saturday night when you come - We are at the Avery Cottages, #4, which are 3 blocks south of Broadway one block from the prom.
Am having lots of fun - wish you were here -
We stopped at Cannon Beach on our way here and may go there Friday to ride -
Looking forward to
seeing you -
Lots of love,
Dotty
