Monday

Hello, sweet -
What a day!  It is now exactly 7:07 PM by the clock and I have been busy ever since you departed yesterday evening -  Following your instructions, I immediately went to bed at 10:30 last nite and slept like a log (almost) until 7:30; after arising and taking a bath, I had my usual breakfast of Wheaties (The Breakfast of Champions) and dashed up the hill arriving promptly at 8:27.  After a short series of "Good mornings" to the rest of the hired help, I proceeded to work like hell until 12:00 high noon - of course in the interim I took a few times out to think some sweet thoughts of you and start looking forward to next weekend - and here it is only Monday - oh, sad state of affairs, guess I will start singing the song "Alone" -
At 12:15 I found myself in the midst of the city in an elevator going up to the doctor's office, where I had some eye exercises till 12:45 which left me with practically no lunch hour, also no lunch, but I grabbed a milk shake nevertheless - and back to work, also receiving a letter from Karl and some misc. mail -
At 5:00 dashed over to the testing station and received an OK on my lites - so now that is fixed up - Then got a haircut which took quite a load off my mind - and then to having a crab louie and a glass of beer for dinner -
Incidentally, it is a very fine thing that we did not buy a dinner for you on account of I spent all my money today and now have the imposing sum of 47 ¢ ready cash -  Guess I better start worrying or pulling strings or something -
Did you get home okay I hope no doubt - and how are you a little sleepy that's what I thought -  Is your car completely repaired again or what - and do you miss me yet, already, I hope -  Also how is the bag and what did the man say -
Got my Associated credit card today and it certainly came at the right time, considering the state of my pocketbook affairs at the present time -  Anyway, the car is now very full of gas -
As soon as I finish this letter I am going back up to the office and work for a couple hours - Couch is really pouring on the work now and it looks as though it would be a wise move if I got me a place to live up on the hill so I could be close enough to do a lot of work at nite which looks probably -
The radio is really playing some swell music - wish you were here to help me listen -
By the way - might have a ride for you back to Eugene next Sunday night - Tony is finishing his vacation then and will be going down  seems to me he said he would be in Portland next Sunday - so I'll see what the deal is then -
Von just walked in and is now trying to talk me out of going back to work and I have a hunch he will succeed -  I have a headache and my eyes hurt so I think I will kiss it off - now I feel better -
Want to thank you once again for the luggage and the happy birthday - honestly, I really had a swell time over the weekend and I hope we can have many more of them - guess you know how I feel -
Also I will write you more than two letters this weekend -
                                                                               Love and kisses,
                                                                                               Bill
