                                                                                Sunday

Hi - dumplin -
Do you like being my "dumplin' "?  Yep, I'm well except for a few scars here and there - anyway I'm going to work tomorrow and I still don't like it - I do feel ambitious, tho, after a week of resting - I finished the mittens today and believe it or not have started on the rug - after all these years -
Did you have fun at the game? - Listened to it on the radio and it sounded O.K. - Oregon State certainly didn't do very much -  Kenny called up to see if you were here - He thot we'd do something if you were - But you weren't - Do you know I can hardly wait till this weekend - Just think  -All day Saturday -
(Am listening to Jack Benny now)  Is the dance Sat. formal or not? - Can you find what Betty is going to wear - then we'll be dressed the same - Anyway it's going to be fun -
(P.S. - Will you care awfully if I don't mail this till tomorrow - but I will the first thing tomorrow morning -)
Have certainly done an extra lot of day dreaming lately - and it's sure fun -  I certainly can't seem to think of much to say -  Hope my sojourn into the fresh air tomorrow won't be too much for me - Am looking forward to your letter tomorrow-
                                                                       Lots of love & kisses
                                                                                      Dotty -

                                                                                  Monday

Hello, dear,
Looks as though you didn't write over the weekend and I'm a little worried - hope you didn't have a relapse or anything - you just have to be well by Friday or I'll be pretty unhappy -
Today was payday which makes it rather an eventful day - anyway, took care of a few bills and bought a pair of gloves - also some license plates and they look pretty smooth - number is 160-045 - Also wandered around looking at prospective Xmas gifts for you, but haven't quite decided yet - even though I have a fairly good idea -
By the way, Von and I played some golf yesterday and I was really bad - came to the conclusion that I ought to have some new woods if I want to improve - so if you really want to, you can put that down as a suggestion on your Xmas list and I wouldn't mind a bit -
Was talking to Hill about the dance today and find out he is taking Betty - Henry Ash is taking Betty Pawnall - and Jack and Mrs. McGirr will also be there - we will probably go up to Betty's apartment before the dance - do you know, dear, I haven't touched a drop, not even one glass of beer, since the night of Gamma Alpha Chis - oh happy day -
Was all set to see my first operation today, but it seemed that the patient had a slight cold so they called it off till she gets well - so will have to wait till Wednesday -  will tell you all about  it, providing it's not too gruesome -
Have you decided yet how you are coming up to Portland - it would be swell if you could manage to take the afternoon train - then I can meet you at the station, and take you everywhere and anywhere you want to go -
                                                                 Love and kisses,
                                                                                Bill
