February 19, 1941 Wednesday "...our very first present"

Have you got my letter yet? - I hope - I wrote a great big long one Monday -
You know - the time is going to just whip by - At least it hasn't gone very slow yet - Say, Mr. Zimmerman, you have got to send me a list of whom you want to invite to the wedding - And pronto - I want to order the invites but can't cause I don't know for sure how many - So please send the list right away - Don't forget - it's very important - include everyone you can think of - then I'll compare with my list - and cross off any duplicates -
Tomorrow night will be busy with the shower for H.G. - I got here a dishpan, a potato masher, cookie cutters, etc, today -  It should be fun - Thought for entertainment we'd play we'd play that running game we played at Ken's & Francis' - Lloyd & Helen gave us the mostest prettiest blue plate they they brought back from Canada - It's awful awful pretty - and our very first present - I told Aunt Janet we had blankets but needed most everything else - Sooo - - -
I'm enclosing the pictures that were in the paper - They're all right I guess - but I'm still not very fond of the way I look -
Ruth tells me that Karl thinks he can come to Portland in March - so how about the 8th?-  They'll be busy with registration the 15th -
Mary called, and she's going to start working on my dress and suit next week - So - They'll be ready in plenty of time - I'm really getting quite thrilled about the whole works -
My car's all fixed up and almost works better than it did before - now it has a new windshield added to the list of news - Oh me oh my - best I sell it -
      Remember the list of guests
                                                                             All my love,
                                                                                   Dotty
