February 27, 1941 Thursday "...- and you are the most wonderful part of it all "
Hello, Light of My Life
Do you know that my wedding dress is practically finished - Am going for a fitting tonight - Gosh - things are working out swell - Dr. Morris says he'd be delighted to do his job - Jean finally asked him for me cause it seemed I could never get there when he was - she explained how it was - so I'll have to see him soon and talk to him - Isn't it wonderful -
I don't quite understand myself about Ruth & Karl - But I guess it's all right now - she got a very sweet letter from him yesterday - the whole trouble was that she wrote a lot of things she shouldn't have - and was sorry for afterwards -
Do you know dear, do you realize that it is very important that we have a practise Sat evening - (or afternoon) So please - when you ask fellows to be ushers - mention the practise too - After all it is an honor to them - and we do want things to off O.K. - We'll talk about it this weekend -
I ordered 150 invitations and 50 reception cards - so far I've listed about 136 people - but of course an awful lot of those are too far away to come - It's really going to be fun - So far everything is working out fine -
Here's some "nooze" - Mr. Lindstrom has a new baby daughter - ain't that sumpin'! -
Have started to work on my rug again and still wish I could find some more rose colored wool -
The stamps sure helped - thanks alot sweet - Just think how much we'll save on postage in a month and a half-
Paul washed my car the other day and it sure looks a lot better -It just shines and shines - should be able to get a good price out of it -
It's Wed. already only Thursday, Friday & Sat. morning -
Oh Happy Fun games -
Love & kisses
Dotty
Thursday
Hello, dear -
This week has been going much too slow - can't wait to see you Saturday - George Jackson called me up today and wanted me to take him and a couple other fellows down to the game tonite, and I certainly would have liked to go, not to see the game, but to see you - but there were too many things to do and I would have been pretty tired - so I refused - so I guess we'll all listen to the game tonite and cheer for Oregon -
Have been trying to see Mr. Couch for a couple of hours ever since Monday, but he has been just too busy - want to go over the budget with him before he leaves for San Francisco so that I can work on it next week - I have been searching diligently for a possible source of funds for my salary increase, but won't be sure until I talk it over with Mr. Couch - it would really be swell if it went through.
You seem to be a busy girl nowadays - but I suppose it's kind of fun too isn't it - and I'm glad everything seems to be working out OK - golly, I guess we will have a crowd present, won't we - By the way, I have all the names and addresses except Larry Crane's and Dotty Lou's - will try to get them shortly -
Had my eyes checked by the doctor yesterday and he seems to think there has been a substantial improvement since the last time - and I hope he's right - the expense of the treatments really hurts - since last July I've had about $70 worth of treatments -
Now that your car is all shined up, best you find yourself a purchaser with lots of ready cash - have an idea you could use the money, couldn't you - even if only to buy stamps -
I'm glad Dr. Morris is available - the more I think about it, the more I think we are really going to have a wonderful wedding - and you are the most wonderful part of it all - so there -
Love,
Bill
P.S. - I'll be there about 3:30 Saturday.
