Monday
Hello, sweet -
Did you get my special delivery yet, I hope - Didn't remember I had your keys until after I was back here last nite and then it was too late, so I did the best I could to return them - and I hope you weren't inconvenienced; besides the walking won't do you any harm -
Do you know for sure whether you are coming up this weekend, on account of I am counting on it, and even if Ruth doesn't come up, you better be here - this last weekend was much too short and I can't wait for another one -
The weather was swell coming up last nite and we had a nice trip, except that I got awfully sleepy - stopped in Salem and I drank a bottle of beer and then I really was sleepy the rest of the way - ate some of your cookies on the way and they are very tasty -
Called J. Merrifield today about the insurance and it is practically fixed up - so John Dick will probably be calling to make an appointment; I told him to fix up a $1,000 policy beginning April 1 and that I would take care of the premium - so, dear, I guess that is the first of our mutual expenses, and so from now on you can get used to having me pay the bills - do you mind?
Am going up after while and see about the apartment and will try to get a definite answer for a change - Have lots of money in my pocket too in case I need to make a deposit, I hope -
Also tonite I am writing Ed, Karl, and Von and will tell them to arrange things so they can be in Eugene on Saturday the 12th, so we'll know about that in lots of time -
Also I am going to bed early and sleep - Hope you are writing me a nice long letter tonite -
Love,
Bill
