March 21, 1941 Friday

                                          Friday

Hello, hello, hello -
I'm sure glad that this is to be our last weekend apart - And it's going to be a long dreary one - Guess what I'm doing?- I'm typing all the lessons for Con. Eng. Novel so I can return M.J.'s lesson to her - Then all I will have to do is to read the books and hand in the lessons - But it's sure a job now and I'm getting tired of typing, typing, typing -
Listen, dear, I have an invitation all addressed, stamped and sealed for Bob Moser, so don't give him another one - Use one of the two I sent for the Boarding House - But save the other - We might need it -
Looks like it's going to be a silver wedding for us - Helen's giving me a shower next Wed. and that is to be the gifts - Then Mrs. Moxley - Dow's mother - wanted us to get silver with what she left for us - Isn't it wonderful!  - At that rate we'll have a set in no time  and something to treasure all the rest of our life -
Next weekend will sure be a full one for us - And my pet - don't forget Wava- the trunk and Marge's veil -
Will do my last bit of purchasing tomorrow - Hope the weather is nice - Then I'm all through for a while, I hope - cause I've spent just about enough money - don't you think! -
It's all very quiet and peaceful around here - And I've sure been getting a lot of sleep lately - Wish you were here -
My rug's still sitting on the table but I'm going to ask the cleaners tomorrow about dyeing a piece of material - and not charge too much for it -
Nothing new is happening at the front - Have a few ( ) more things ready for you to take back with you and will probably have more by next weekend -
                                         Je t'aime beaucoux -
                                                         Dotty

                                                                                    Friday

Greetings, sweet -
Thanks for the invitations - I think they look swell, even though they are a bit large - should I give one to Bob Moser or are you going to send him one - also, what do the reception cards look like - and when are you sending out all of these -
Am glad to hear everything is going so smoothly and I hope you don't find anything to have to worry about - honestly, sweet, I can hardly believe that in three short weeks we'll be married - it's really a wonderful feeling.  And it's sure a lot of fun thinking about it and everything -
Wandered up to our little apartment this noon - the more I see of it the more I like it, only I wish it weren't quite so small- don't know where we're going to put all your furniture but I'll let you worry about that - By the way, you're still planning on coming up here the 6th or thereabouts, aren't you -
How are you coming along with your campaign to sell your car - think you better do a little intensive work about the first of the week on this little matter - and I hope you succeed in selling it O.K. - after all we can use all the cash we can get for a while, don't you think -
You should see me now, dear.  Went down today and had the shortest haircut I've ever had - the hair isn't more than an inch long anywhere - in fact, it looks the same if I comb it forward instead of back, but  it'll be all right in a day or so.
Wish I were coming down to Eugene again this weekend but I guess I can't have everything - that is - not until April 13 anyway.  But have an idea the days are going to go pretty fast from now on - and I hope the spring weather lasts for a few more weeks.
                                                                                         Love and kisses,
                                                                                                     Bill
