Sunday
Hello, sweet -
I am glad too that this is our last weekend apart - they just don't seem the same without you.
Anyway, I got my car all polished up yesterday afternoon and it took me about 4 hours. I was a little tired afterwards too - guess I'm not in the best of shape yet. And this morning my shoulders are really stiff - in fact I was going to play a little golf but have called that off.
The weather really turned out swell today - maybe spring is here to stay, I hope. This afternoon I am going to take the family down to Salem to visit my sister, so we should have a nice trip.
Had lunch with Von yesterday - He doesn't like Seattle at all and says he has yet to see a pretty girl up there - maybe he is too critical - He still isn't sure whether he can get down to Eugene by the nite of the 12th but I'm not worrying too much about that. I'm going to call him a little later and get him to promise me definitely before the end of the week.
I have written Karl about the addresses of Bea and Jo and Cadle, so should have those before long. It's kinda tough getting the names and addresses of Sargent and Mrs. Eigner but I should succeed by tomorrow, I hope.
I'll call up your Aunt Edna and Marge tomorrow and see what they say. And Tuesday I'll get in touch with Br. Byrne, and if everything goes according to schedule we ought to have a pretty swell weekend, if it doesn't rain or something.
Went down to the local movie last night and saw "the Lady Eve" - good show - and do you know, dear, that's the first money I've spent all week, aren't you proud of me - I can really save if I have to, and now is a good time. Tonite however I am going out and buy me a big dinner, but that will be the extent of my spending for a while-
Miss Langoe left for San Francisco last nite - she is getting married Friday nite - and I gave her our address, so I wouldn't be surprised if we heard from her before long.
Golly, did I ever have some wild dreams last nite - and one or two were about you too - first dreams I've had in some time. Maybe it was something I et.
Listen, sweet, it would be real nice of you to pack up a few things for me to use when I'm in the apartment from the 1st to the 13th of April. I probably won't be doing much cooking, but think I could get breakfasts and lunches there O.K. So could you figure out what I would need in the way of dishes, etc. and I'll bring them back with me this weekend. I'll also need a sheet or two, I suppose-
Could be that I'll lose a pound or two while I'm there alone, but should gain it back pretty fast after you start doing the cooking, don't you think -
And remember, dear, this is the week you are going to sell your car.
Love,
Bill
Sunday -
Guess where I am - yep in the back yard with "Old Man Sol" and thinking of you and writing to you - It has really been a beautiful day today - Just think! only two more weekends - if you only knew how happy I am -
What have you been doing today? You know - for the first time today I just wondered what you did do when I wasn't around -
Opened my dime bank and there was $4.60 which guess I'll put in the bank - Am sorta going over my budget but I don't care - am having lots of fun -
P.S- I'm getting a pretty good tan?- Winkie and Ann visited me for quite a while this afternoon - We planted flowers and everything - They are sure a couple of cute kids -
There have been a lot of planes flying around today - Guess a lot of the boys are getting their hours in -
Thot I had lots to say to you - but guess I can't remember it - I sure am anxious to see our apartment - And even more anxious to move in - But it won't be long now- Hope next weekend is as nice as this - Don't forget to call Aunt Edna to see if Wava can come - It's very important that she does come - Her dress is sure going to be cute -
Cheero, my pet, and think of me now and then -
Love
Dotty

He was really on her to sell that car, wasn't he? And finally we have Karl and Bea in the same sentence! And Wava's cute little dress was around when I was young, we played dress-up, but at some point it disappeared. Too bad. Which sister was in Salem do you think? And I am still confused about the addresses of the little apartments; I am going to have to go back to the library and check the City Directory again.
