October 16, 1940 Wednesday "I have been doing a lot of thinking myself about a spring wedding"

                                                                                Wednesday

Dear Dotty -
Your letter was very very sweet - I have been doing a lot of thinking myself about a spring wedding - March or April - although I wish it could be sooner - However, I guess if we consider everything very sanely it would be better to wait until about April, but certainly no longer - anyway it's sure lots of fun planning things and stuff - just wait till I see you Saturday -
Golly, this week is passing fast - almost wrote Tuesday at the top - the days at the office don't last very long when I'm running around like I am now - hope Thurs and Friday don't drag - and I know Saturday and Sunday will just whip by - darn it - but we are going to have fun -
Am going down to the morgue tonite and play ping - pong with Hill and Von - think Hill might go out with us too on Sat. nite - although Von is taking the nurse -
Got registered OK for the draft today - now if they don't call my number for a couple of years everything will be fine - and they better wait till after next spring -
By the way, how are you dong with the library books - you better remember to bring them with you Saturday - also I wouldn't say a word if you handed me $1.25, as I am practically broke again - but I am not worrying about it -
Are you thinking of me much, sweet?  Like I am of you - and always will -
                                                                        All my love,
                                                                               Bill
