October 24, 1940 Thursday

                                                                          Thurs

Hello - again -
This week is really whipping by fast - can hardly believe that tomorrow is Friday and then the next day I'll be in Eugene -
Have you any idea of what we are going to do Saturday nite - except talk - not that it matters much - remind me for sure to call up Mr. Collins and Dr. Byrne - have to check up with Charlie about the cottage at the coast too -
So you don't care much about studying or graduating any more - guess it isn't too important, as you are not going to be a career woman anyway - that is, not for more than 6 months more, I hope - maybe if you only lack a few hours you can take them in Portland Extension sometime in the future - maybe - or maybe in about four years - when I go back to the University of Chicago, I hope, you might go to school too -
Speaking of six months, are you aware that that is the end of April - it's not too long from now at that - or what do you think -
Have one passenger coming down with me Saturday - a redhead named Phyllis Munson - she's a medical stenographer at Doernbecher - told her we'd probably go back about 7:30 or 8:00 Sunday nite -
Gosh, I'll sure be glad when the 1st of the month comes around - I am practically broke - my budget however is really fixed up swell starting with November - how about you?  Haven't decided yet whether I should invest in some ski clothes or not - winter is practically here -
See you Saturday about 3:30 or 4:00 -
                                                                  Love,
                                                                            Bill
