Aug 5 1940 From Dotty (No Envelope)

Hi, puddin pie-
     Got to Eugene in fine shape - even zoomed along at 50 a good part of the way - astride the yellow line.  We stopped at Albany and I had a coc and a half and part of Helen's milk-shake -  Even felt a little like working today but it sure was hot - wow -
     I'm so proud of my little birds - I sure feel lazy today - haven't even unpacked yet -  Oh - I'm so proud - my dime bank's full so I opened it and tomorrow or the next day I'm going down to buy some sheets - they are on sale here and I can get some green stamps, too -
It's sure going to be fun buying things -  Just filled two green stamp books so can get something with them -
     Could you and would you do me a favor - no guess not - I think Thursday will be soon enough to make an appointment to have my hair fixed -  Anyway, if you think about it or want too call Marge & tell her I'm leaving here between 3:30 & 4:00 Wed. aft.  -  Mom is going to come with me - Oh dear, Zim - will you have enough money to buy Marge's present then I can pay you later -  or I could get an advance from the company - Gosh I'm sure broke - But I did pay some bills today - and I'm not going to run up any more (where have I heard that before?!) but I do mean it this time.
     Guess I best unpack.  See you Wed. night.
