                                                                    Tuesday

Hi Sweetest
I was just getting ready for my bath when I remembered that if I didn't write now it would probably be too late, later.  You see tonight is the party -
Today was another uneventful day - Went to work & that is all -
I don't know what to do this weekend -  I would like to come to Portland - but there are so many complications  - just now tried to call Hartley and he wasn't home, could you get a lot of passengers to come up here?  I would love to come down, to meet see Mr. Couch - and I know I'd have fun - but I'm not sure where I could stay - course, with Aunt Vesta - but I couldn't stay out very late etc. -  Anyway, you let me know what you would like to do - We could probably save more money here.  Whatever you want to do - I will - I can't seem to definitely make my mind up one way or the other - I will call Hartley again in the morning just to check up. -  I know we can have fun either place -
I will see Tony tomorrow about the pictures but gotta dash now -
                                                                       Loads of love

                                                                          Tuesday

Hello, dear -
Guess what - I didn't find a letter from you waiting for me today - don't know whether to be worried or unhappy or irked or both - anyway, I wish you would have written -
Don't feel too sharp today - guess the weekend caught up with me - I am going to buy some aspirin when I mail this letter -
Just figured out my gas bill and my headache is getting worse -  it's over $20 already, which with $27 for insurance, and the $20 payment on the car, makes $67 cash which I will have to hand out the first of September - oh happy day - remind me not to get a 2 - car garage later on -
Went out to the Tualitin again this afternoon and conferred with Mr. Couch - it was a little too cold to go swimming today, but he repeated his invitation for next weekend if I or you or both of us were around -
Remember the party I mentioned I was going to this Thursday - it actually looks definite and from what Dick Hill tells me I am also going to have a date - gosh - what do I do now - wish you were here - will tell you the horrible details later - but I understand she is a blonde, darn it -
The I delivered the trunk to your Aunt Edna last evening - also the button - and stayed for a little chat - she seems to be very hopeful about the doctor in Wheeler and I hope also that he will be able to help her -
I am going to bed real early tonight and see if I can sleep this off - will write you a much better letter tomorrow -
                                                                              Love,
                                                                                    Bill

I think the trunk he delivered to Aunt Edna may actually be the black chest/trunk that is currently at my house storing all the family history and photos. Mom always called it a trunk and always said it was Aunt Edna's.
